9:15 AM: Mark Kriebel - Rotary International Representative

Mark has served Rotary as a Club President, District 7170 Governor, Zone and Regional Membership Coordinator, Regional Public Image Coordinator, GETS, DGN, and DG trainer and Zone Institute training coordinator, and has had multiple assignments as President’s Representative, International Convention speaker, International Coordinator Trainer, and Training Leader and Plenary Speaker at the Rotary International Assembly.

9:45 AM: Gernot Runschke - Rotary Foundation

26 Years ago, Gernot was ask to join a group of like-minded professionals, called Rotarians. He joined the Rotary Club of Grand Haven and has served in a number of different capacities, among them are Club President, Program Chair, Youth Exchange Officer, Scholarship Committee Chair, and District Governor. He has been an active in fundraising to support local and international serviced projects.

10:15 AM: Joanne Elvy & Ahmad Alkosani - Update from Béqaa Valley, Lebanon: Outreach to Syrians in need

Joanne's journey with Rotary began in 2018 when she was awarded a Rotary Peace Fellowship at the Peace Centre in Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, where her research focused on post-conflict recovery for Syrian children. She then traveled to Lebanon to assist the Global Education & Refugee Organization (GERO) in capacity building and outreach for refugee children. There Joanne met GERO’s founder, Ahmad Alkosani. Originally from Syria, in 2018 Ahmad was sponsored by the World University Service of Canada to come to Canada and study Business at Sault College. Since arriving in Sault Ste Marie Ahmad has since been active in the community advocating for refugees. Joanne and Ahmad hope to initiate awareness, empathy and dialogue amongst Rotary members.

As Regional Public Image Coordinator, Mark will provide insight as to how we can highlight our clubs in our communities.

1:30 PM: Youth Programs Roundtable led by Jim White

An open discussion about youth programs between our district's resident expert and the youth who take part.

Kathy Hegedus leads a discussion on how to do a "pop up project".

2:30 PM: Membership Panel: How Clubs in our District are Growing

How are clubs in our district achieving meaningful growth, and how can you apply those same strategies to your club.

Pat is a music educator and Rotarian. She has served as Endwell Rotary Club President, and was District 7170 Governor in 2014-2015.

4:00 PM: Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie - Fundraising

Your hosts, the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie, will share what they've learned from 100 years of fundraising.


Enjoy live music, games, food, entertainment, and more at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre! The shuttle bus will leave Quattro at 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM and return to the hotel at 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM.
